Further planned dates for the transportation of equipment from Combwich Wharf along the C182 to the Hinkley Point C construction site have been announced.

They will be moving three pieces of equipment over the course of two days, at the following dates and times:

–    Wednesday, 16 October: between 12:00–13:00 and 14:00–15:00

–    Sunday, 20 October: between 09:00 and 16:00

Due to the size and shape of this equipment, these deliveries will be managed via an escorted ‘rolling roadblock.’

Updated information regarding the HPC Community Bus service which usually travels through Stogursey, including important details about upcoming disruptions due to abnormal load movements on the Hinkley Point Road: Service Disruption: Tuesday 1st October: Service will be disrupted between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM. Thursday 3rd October: Service will be disrupted between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM.  Community Bus Schedule: Cannington to Nether Stowey: The Community Bus will travel directly to Nether Stowey and wait at Pooles Close. Nether Stowey to Bridgwater Bus Station: The bus will return directly from Nether Stowey to Cannington without any additional stops. They will be moving six pieces of equipment across four days during the following dates and times:

Tuesday 1 October & Thursday 3 October between 13:00-15:30

and     Saturday 5 October & Sunday 6 October between 09:00-17:00

These movements are necessary due to the recent spell of bad weather, which prevented us from utilising the scheduled barge delivery windows.

Due to the size and shape of this equipment, these deliveries will be managed via an escorted ‘rolling roadblock.’

Temporary Road Closure: Yearmoor Lane, Stogursey
Reference: SWT37/0524 – SD007723 – Yearmoor Lane

Please be aware that we have received notification of a temporary road closure at Yearmoor Lane, Stogursey  for approximately 490 metres, which will commence on 28th August 2024 and is expected to last until 1st September 2024 (between 07:00 to 19.00hrs). These phased works are for prep works, surface dressing and associated works, their works reference is LG018-SD007723-SD-01.

The phased works will be for five days within the stated period and the road will be reopened when no works are taking place. Signage will be placed on site.
