H.M. The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee – June 2022 – Event advice

In October 2021, the government published guidance including tips, advice and support on organising a street party.

Councils are encouraged to share the guidance with local residents who may be planning to hold a small, private street party to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations in 2022.

Somerset West and Taunton Council  will consider an application for a street party and road closure. The number one tip for holding a party is to plan early, think about what you want to achieve and get in touch with us at least six weeks in advance, but preferably a little more, so don’t delay get your application in as soon as possible, visit their website page  – Holding a street party (somersetwestandtaunton.gov.uk)

Stogursey Parish Council maybe able to assist parish groups with some grant funding to help you reconnect with your community and celebrate this wonderful once in a life time event on the extended bank holiday weekend. Last date for consideration of such applications will be May 17th 2022.
