Stogursey Oral History Project

The project came about when Phil Hemmings and Lesley Flash realising that there was a wealth of local history in the memories of people living in the area decided to record them for posterity.  Funding was IMG_0046

Listen to these sisters who were born and have lived in the village all their lives.
Ian moved to the village as a young boy in 1960 at a time when Hinley Point A Station was under construction and Stogursey School was bursting at the seams. His mother Peggy Elenor came to be a supply teacher for two weeks and stayed.

Pauline’s father was the village baker and she was born in the village in 1944.
