The Victory Hall is currently being rebuilt and expected to be completed
Late Summer 2020
The Victory Hall is managed by a Board of Trustees, usually referred to as the Victory Hall Management Committee.
The Victory Hall lies to the west of the village, on a large area of land given to the village by Lord St Audries. There is a large recreational field – with full sized soccer pitch floodlit Five-a-side Football / Tennis court and Basketball court. The Youth Club is in a separate building next to the Hall which has a large parking area for parties and functions.
The Victory Hall is managed by a committee, all of whom are volunteers. They welcome new members. They organise fund raising events to help with the upkeep and maintenance of the buildings. Among the major funding raising events are the annual 50/50 Auction and the Flower Show.
The Hall is used by various ‘clubs’ during the week, these include Short Mat Bowls, Exercise to Music, Bingo and Line Dancing. (See Stogursey News and elsewhere on this website for timings of these and other events). They all welcome new members.
The hall can be hired for events such as Wedding Parties, Meetings, Dances, Discos, and Children’s Parties etc. There is a licenced bar which can be hired for events. (It is advisable to book early as the hall is often booked well ahead).
The Village Football team, Stogursey AFC play their home games on the football pitch and use the facilities in the hall as their changing rooms.
The Youth Club has a regular Thursday night meeting from 6.30 pm – 8.30pm
The Quantock Musical Theatre Company is a local choral group who perform at local events and give concerts in the Victory Hall and other local venues. They meet in the Youth Club from 7.30pm to 9.30pm on Tuesdays. They welcome new members of any age.
The Hall runs a fundraising lottery. It costs £1 per month (£12 a year) and gives prizes of £25, £15, & £10 for ten months of the year with prizes of £60, £30 & £15 in June, and £100, £50 and £25 in December.
