Road Closure, Culver Street, Burton 18th March 2022
Urgent / emergency Road Closure: – ttro233496 – Culver Street, Burton, Stogursey
Please be aware that we have received a notification of a TTRN (urgent / emergency) road closure at Culver Street, Stogursey will commence on 18th March 2022 and is expected to last until 22nd March 2022.
The contractor has indicated that access for Emergency Services through the site is not permitted on this occasion.

Living with Covid – Key dates for changes
The government has published its plan for living with COVID-19.
From Monday 21 February:
- guidance for staff and students in most education and childcare settings to undertake twice weekly asymptomatic testing is dropped
From Thursday 24 February:
- people who test positive for COVID-19 will no longer be legally required to self-isolate, but will still be advised to stay at home and avoid contact with others for at least five full days
- routine contact tracing will end, so fully-vaccinated close contacts and those under 18 years old will no longer be legally required to test daily for seven days or advised to self-isolate
- workers will no longer be required to tell their employer if they need to self-isolate
- the £500 self-isolation support payment for people on low incomes who test positive for COVID-19 will no longer be available
- COVID-19 provisions for increased statutory sick pay will apply for a further month
From Friday 1 April:
- free mass symptomatic and asymptomatic COVID-19 testing for the general public will end, and will instead be targeted towards the most vulnerable
- people with COVID-19 symptoms will be asked to exercise personal responsibility when deciding whether to stay at home – until then they are still advised to do so
- current government guidance on COVID-19 passports will end and it will no longer recommend venues use the NHS COVID Pass
This plan is for England only. Restrictions remain in place in other parts of the UK.

Call for voters to register in time for elections this May
Voters in Somerset West and Taunton are being reminded to make sure they are registered to vote and able to take part in local elections for the new unitary council for Somerset, and town and parish councils, on Thursday 5 May.
It’s quick and easy to register to vote, but after the deadline of 14 April, it will be too late.
The call for voters to sign up comes to encourage as many people as possible to register ahead of elections taking place this year across Somerset.
Research shows that young people, students and recent home movers are particularly less likely to be registered to vote. So, if you have moved house recently, then make sure you’re registered correctly.
If you’re not registered, you won’t be able to have your say on issues that directly affect your day-to-day life in Somerset.
These crucial elections are for the councillors at county level who will oversee the transition to a new unitary council, which they will then lead to deliver all the promises and ambitions of the unitary business case.
The town and parish councillors elected have a vital role too, ushering in a new era of community empowerment. They will be pioneers, drawing on an array of new opportunities, driving real change locally.
